Campaign Update: Progress and 2 Events

Hey there dear supporters!  It’s been a while since I’ve added to the newsletter here, as I’ve focused more recently on journalistic accounts of the race on my Real Context News site, but I thought I would put out a few pieces of information here.

I’m pretty proud of my campaign so far: in four debates I participated in so far, I stood toe-to-toe in each with at least one of the frontrunners and set myself apart from all the other second-tier candidates as the only one of them who can hold his own in terms of substance alongside the two frontrunners, Rep. David Trone and County Executive Alsobrooks.  Across these four debates, I’d say I came in 3rd (after the two frontrunners) in the first, tied for first with Alsobrooks in the second, won the third, and tied for first with Alsobrooks in the fourth (you can see my performances here).  I even crashed an earlier debate in December and mingled with a TV reporter, getting about as much coverage from that station’s TV segment and writeup as the people on stage.

Which brings me to another point: I have by far earned the most media coverage of any second-tier candidate and am the only candidate other than the two frontrunners quoted in the major news outlets of The Washington Post and The Baltimore Sun as well as other outlets (see the full list here).

Most undecided voters are probably going to Google candidate names to make up their mind, so the media coverage along with my much stronger social media presence means I have a huge advantage for those doing their own research to choose (Alsobrooks has gained some new followers recently, but before that, I had more followers on Twitter than the Alsobrooks and Trone campaigns combined and may recover that distinction).

Also, I’m taking part in two events, one today, Sunday April 28, and one tomorrow, Monday April 29.

The first event is a candidate meet and greet on Sunday, April 28th, 2-4PM at the Baltimore County Public Library Owings MillsBranch at 10302 Grand Central Ave. Owings Mills, MD 21117.

The second event is essentially a meet-and-greet starting at 6PM followed by a debate at 7:30PM on Monday, April 29, at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden International at 3600 Brightseat Road, Landover, MD 20785.  The debate (“forum”) is to be streamed online.  Both events are open to the public so if you can make it, come!

Now is the time to raise my candidacy to be an integral part of this race, now is the time to spread the word, now is the time to donate to my campaign, now is the time to really get things going.
